  My best friend sends one of her sons to this Academy. With his diagnosis of Aspergers & ADHD, he spent a couple of years being suspended from public school and getting reprimanded almost daily. Since she put her son in this school the change has been remarkable. He's come out of his shell and has blossomed academically. He's way ahead of his grade level by 2 years. They seem to use a structured approach to routine and accountability and lets face it, what other schools couldn't use more structure and firmer rules. I think this school is helping her family out in ways never imagined and giving this child the help he will need in his future to deal with life and any other obstacles that will certainly pop up as life has a way of doing. If your child is on the Special Needs Spectrum, you may be doing them a disservice by not checking into this school.

  My grandchildren have been students here for about 9years, the oldest having graduated 3 years ago. He is a very successful college student, having achieved Dean's list. I credit his time at Flaming Sword for his success. You see, he has Asperger Syndrome. My other two grandchildren attend, both have made honor roll repeatedly. This school is like a family. The Headmistress and entire staff all care about each student, know each by name, understand each child's potential as well as his/her limitations. I have attended many functions st this school. I have watched children blossom because of the care and instruction given at this school. I can assure everyone that Dr. Wanda Hatmaker is an excellent leader, teacher, and mentor for each and every student there. I recommend this school to all parents desiring a first rate education for their children and grandchildren.
